MANEKIN CONSTRUCTION NAMES STEPHEN NEWHOUSE
VP OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
COLUMBIA, Md. (Sep. 5, 2008) – Stephen A. Newhouse, a 37-year construction industry veteran, has joined Manekin Construction, LLC as vice president of business development. Working from the firm’s Columbia headquarters, he will pursue construction management, design-build and design-bid-build opportunities with private and public clients.
“Joining Manekin is a wonderful opportunity and I am excited to bring my years of experience to an existing construction organization,” Newhouse said.
Overall, Newhouse has 27 years experience developing construction and design services business, and 10 years experience designing and constructing projects as an owner’s representative.
Throughout his career, he has had numerous articles published and has provided various “how to” construction presentations at seminars attended by facilities managers and owners’ representatives planning new projects. Additionally, he has been continuously active in professional organizations related to design, construction, facilities management and real estate.
A Leadership Howard County graduate, Newhouse currently serves as an Advisory Board member of Capitol College’s Innovation and Leadership Institute and a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
He graduated from the University of Maryland in an early version of a facilities management program called, Education for Industry. In addition, he took courses at the University of Baltimore, Johns Hopkins University, Catonsville Community College and completed Xerox, Dale Carnegie and Steelcase professional sales training courses.
Newhouse has lived in the Baltimore-Washington area since 1954. He currently resides in Columbia with his wife, MaryAnn. The couple has two grown children, Brandon and Julie.
