Demonstrating that it is better to give than to receive, Manekin, LLC, along with 108 subcontractors and vendors, contributed approximately $67,000 to 32 charities at the company’s annual subcontractors party. Overall, the history of giving related to this event is approximately $711,000.

For 24 years, Manekin has hosted an event for its subcontractors and vendors who have helped the company achieve success. As part of the event, the guests raised money for a variety of worthy causes in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Charles, Cecil, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties; Baltimore City and Central Maryland (see attached list).

"The subcontractors party represents part of a long history of giving back to the communities where we do business," said Richard Alter, Manekin’s president and CEO.

In 2007, cash and in-kind donations by Manekin and its employees exceeded $412,000. The company previously won the Maryland Business Philanthropy Award for its commitment to improving Marylanders’ quality of life through philanthropic efforts.
