History

Manekin takes great pride in an outstanding reputation and record of achievement,
celebrating more than 60 years of commercial real estate success.
Beginning with our first headquarters in Baltimore, Manekin played a central
role in the redevelopment of the city’s Central Business District. After
completing our first development project, The Rotunda, in 1967, early development
along the Baltimore-Washington Corridor soon followed. Manekin was a pioneer
in Howard County, as one of the first real estate developers to work with the
Rouse Company and its financial partners when Columbia’s business expansion
was still in the planning stage.
Farsighted in service expansion and land development along the I-270 corridor
in Frederick, Manekin constructed some of the largest corporate headquarters
and campuses in an area that has since become the center for Maryland’s
technology development.
That strategic vision was again apparent in Harford and Cecil Counties, with
ongoing commercial and residential land development projects between the I-95
and Route 40 corridors, which are well positioned for BRAC (Base Relocation
and Closure) and defense-related development. The southern anchor of this growth
corridor is located in Charles and Saint Mary’s Counties, which represent
dynamic future markets for Manekin and its clients.
