JAMES S. LEANOS, SIOR RETURNS TO MANEKIN, LLC
James S. Leanos, SIOR has returned to Manekin, LLC – the company where he began his real estate career. Now serving as a vice president in the firm’s brokerage division, he focuses on tenant representation and corporate services, as well as business development in the Baltimore-Washington Corridor.
“An industry veteran with exceptional talents, Jim brings a disciplined, structured, strategic approach to his work and an extremely high level of professionalism,” said Robert A. Manekin, Manekin LLC’s senior vice president for brokerage.
“He also brings the perspective of someone who has been in the brokerage industry for more than three decades, who has represented such notable tech firms as Ciena and Corvis,” Manekin added. “We are delighted to have him back on our team.”
From 1973 to 1976, Leanos served as a sales and leasing representative with Manekin. He spent the next 16 years running his independently-owned commercial real estate brokerage firm, and has been subsequently affiliated with CB Commercial Real Estate Group, Casey & Associates/ONCOR International and KLNB.
Most recently, he served as an associate broker at Jackson Cross Partners/ONCOR International in Philadelphia. In October, he returned to Maryland to rejoin Manekin.
“I enjoyed working for Manekin in the ‘70s and have admired the firm and its capabilities ever since,” Leanos said. “Whenever I have called on Manekin for my clients’ development and construction needs, they always rose to the occasion and met or beat the time constraints.”
Active in professional and civic organizations, Leanos holds office and industrial designations with the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). He also is a member and Board member of Lambda Alpha International – the honorary land economic society – and a member of the Urban Land Institute.
Leanos previously served on the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board’s Citizens Advisory Committee and the Board of the Neighborhood Design Center. He also was a member of the Baltimore Transit Alliance and Transit Riders Action Council.
A University of Maryland graduate, he later completed professional coursework at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania; The New School, Temple University, Realtors National Marketing Institute and Real Estate Securities and Syndications Institute.
