Community Affairs

Manekin is a firm believer in giving back to the community in which we work.
Among the largest contributors to the United Way Campaign, we are proud of
our unprecedented employee participation, which exceeds 95% every year. Manekin
also participates in an annual “Day of Caring”, providing free construction
services to deserving organizations such as The Salvation Army and Habitat
for Humanity.
Since the company’s inception, Manekin Construction, in conjunction
with our subcontractors and vendors, has held a holiday fundraising event
to help needy families and charitable organizations. The event proceeds are
donated to more than 30 area organizations, including the Maryland Food Bank,
House of Ruth and Special Olympics. When the event’s original organizer,
Karen Dean, passed away from cancer in the 1990’s, it was renamed in
her memory. Today, the Karen Dean Fund is a designated 501C3 charity and
has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities.
