History

Manekin is one of the largest full-service commercial real estate companies in Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic, active in every sector of the Baltimore / Washington marketplace, the fourth largest market in the country.

With a history of projects valued at over $2 billion, Manekin was founded in 1946 as a family brokerage business in Baltimore. Now headquartered in Columbia, the company has grown with the region and today has over 150 professional employees working in all facets of commercial real estate: Development, Construction, Asset Management, Brokerage and, Investment Services. Although it is no longer a family-run business, Manekin LLC remains proud of its origins and its outstanding reputation for providing hundreds of businesses, institutions, owners and pension funds with expert services in tenant and landlord representation, asset and property management, and development and construction for third-party clients. Although much of the company’s work in all divisions is for third-party clients, Manekin is also an owner and developer in its own right and therefore has the unique perspective of an owner in transactions as well as the ability to offer development sites, and work with qualified partners.
